Start your own vegetable garden with ‘hugel-culture’

It’s springtime folks, the right time to start a permaculture project. We’ve selected five videos, which show how to get started right away without any special knowledge.

This ‘technique’ or ‘style’ is called hugel-culture; and as the German word suggests, a mound or an artificially heaped pile is being created for the purpose of growing your own vegetables!

All you need to do is invest some of your precious time into something, which will – once it’s finished – take care of many things in contrast to conventional gardening. This garden design gives you the opportunity to avoid further tilling, fertilization, and most of the irrigation.

The ‘hugel’ has everything your veggies will need during their growing season. We hope you will find some inspiration to start your own little adventure into permaculture.
